You and the perfect wedding shoe: Together At Last
On a wedding day, style and statement aside, there is one thing you don’t want to be above all else and that is uncomfortable. Why? Because you best believe that your discomfort comes across in your forever photographs, no matter how much you’ve practiced your picture smile. A good photographer gets the moments in-between, and those moments for an uncomfortable bride are a series of stress glances, winces, and pleas to the heavens to sit the heck down.
So you found the gown and thus the hunt for perfectly paired accessories begins. Thankfully the whelm doesn’t seem as grand as it did when narrowing down your bridal style, however there is one point of minor anxiety: shoes. Why does it seem an impossibility in the world for a shoe to exist that is both beautiful and functional? Haven’t we all had that moment of achy, tired feet, walking around a shopping centre and staring for a split second at the orthopaedic shoes in the chemist window, wishing they weren’t so hideous?
(no…? Just me?)
None of us want achy feet. None of us want exhausted facial expressions in our wedding photographs. None of us want ugly shoes. So how does a girl meet her needs in the middle?
I’ll tell you how. The perfect marriage between Together Journal x Chaos & Harmony.
For those of you playing at your Australian home, these are two big names in the land of New Zealand. If you’ve visited us in store you’ve browsed and enjoyed the beautiful pages of the delicious wedding mag that is Together Journal, and if you’re in the know on footwear in the Southern Hemisphere, you’ve likely heard of Chaos & Harmony before. These two mega brands have combined their powers and experience and created one brilliant shoe that meets the needs of the modern bride who doesn’t want to break her back or bank for her wedding day. They have created the beauty that is the Together Shoe.
Having spent many years shooting stylish weddings, and appreciating them on the page, Together Journal’s editor Greta Kenyon is not short of opinions about bridal style. She recently collaborated with Rebecca Anderson, creative director of New Zealand footwear brand Chaos & Harmony, on her ultimate wedding shoe.
“We’ve thought about all types of weddings, from city to beach, vineyard and marquee, so brides will feel comfortable, stylish and confident,” says Beks.
“Whether they tuck their heels under their gown or put them on display, they’ll be able to forget about their feet and concentrate on the most important thing, which is marrying their partner.”
Greta & Beks have come up with the shoe aptly named “Together” which is a beautiful block heel, with an open toe and back strap. Its designed with comfort in mind and a shoe that you can wear long after your wedding day which is the ethos of our Bridal collection. They designed with a desire for these to be shoes women keep on wearing and loving. At Mrs Fray, we have nothing against Mr. Choo, but we unanimously vote for a block heel over a stiletto when it comes to stamina and usability after a wedding day — and that’s where this shoe collab shines.
These shoes are designed in NZ and ethically hand crafted in their factory in Guangdong, China. Greta & Beks have worked with this team for over 9 years and travel to the factory every 12 weeks to oversee production. The Together Shoes use the finest leathers and their Bridal shoes have a leather sole, to step them up a notch and give them a really luxurious feel.
We are thrilled to welcome to the Together Shoe into the Mrs Fray store and family from next week.
